TXST student Joseph Treviño has been named Outstanding Collegiate Music Educator for 2019 by the Texas Music Educators Association.
TXST alum Aaron Carter-Enyi, now an Assistant Professor at Morehouse College, led a workshop for the Society of Music Theory Committee on Race and Ethnicity, which was attended by TXST music theorist Dr. Cynthia I. Gonzales. Workshop participants made a kalimba, as instructed by Prof. Carter and his students.
