The Spencer-Lockett and Friends Salon Presentation February 24 drew an audience of 90 invited guests to hear student performers in the San Marcos home of Lisa and Jim Bob Spencer. A beautiful Steinway grand was provided by Deborah Moore of Steinway Gallery. Catering was provided by Monte and Kristin Sheffield of Palmer’s Restaurant. Generous matching gifts were provided by Sharon Lockett and Jim Bob Spencer.
Voice professor Richard Novak organized the performers, including a jazz quartet and 14 classical music students. TXST opera coach Kristin Roach accompanied several, playing magnificently on the Steinway brought in for the occasion.
The event raised more than $25,000 for TXST music scholarships, the highest in the four years of this annual event.
