Students perform with Conspirare, Austin Symphony

On Friday and Saturday evening in Austin, The TXST Chorale directed by Joey Martin, the Conspirare Symphonic Chorus directed by TXST Artist-in-Residence Craig Hella Johnson, and the Austin Symphony Orchestra directed by Peter Bay joined together for stunning performances of the Brahms REQUIEM. Johnson also conducted the Symphony performing Brahms’ Variations on a Theme by Haydn.

Dr. Martin attended the Friday evening concert and was thrilled to take a curtain call for the choirs with Dr. Johnson.  On Saturday, Johnson asked the Conspirare Symphonic Chorus as hosts to please thank the Texas State Chorale, and they clapped for almost a three-minute ovation.

“This was an amazing experience for our wonderful student musicians,” commented Dr. Martin.
