Presenter at NAfME biennial

November 3rd Dr. Alec D. Scherer presented a spoken session with co-author Dr. Bradley J. Regier at the biennial National Association for Music Education Conference in National Harbor, MD. Scherer (on right below) and Regier discussed the findings of their analysis of beginning band method books looking for activities that develop student creativity through improvisation, arranging, and composition. Their session was well attended and received, resulting in a lively discussion of future avenues for research related to creativity and beginning band methods.
