Dr. Ames Asbell, Associate Professor of Viola, recently served as a guest artist at the 16th annual University of Tennessee Viola Celebration in Knoxville. Asbell was featured in a solo performance in the Viola Celebration faculty recital, presented masterclasses, led classes in warmups and tango string techniques, and judged viola ensemble competitions alongside other guest artists George Taylor (Eastman School of Music) and Philippe Chao (Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra, Texas Tech University).
