This spring, Dr. Nico Schüler presented a paper on “Networks of Black Artists in Minstrel and Jubilee Ensembles in the US in the Late 19th Century” at the College Music Society South Central Chapter Conference and a paper on “Rediscovering ‘Authentic’ African-American Music in the US in the Late-19th Century” at the American Musicological Society Southwest Chapter Conference.
Seventeen undergraduate students supervised by Dr. Schüler presented posters with original research related to popular music at the annual Undergraduate Research Conference at Texas State.
