TXST Saxophone Studio Recent Accomplishments

The studio of Dr. Todd Oxford has continued to stay busy accomplishing great things , both by the students and Dr. Oxford himself. Recent accomplishments of the studio include:

Dr. Todd Oxford Activities

  • Applicant for the Center for International Studies, Verena and Kenneth J. Wilson Latin American Research Award. To support collaborative research, teaching, and outreach between Texas State University faculty and students and students and faculty from Latin American Universities in order to promote the exchange of ideas, experiences, and global perspectives.
  • Perform for the Association for Technology in Music Instruction National Online Conference.
  • Perform for the College Music Society National Online Conference.
  • Perform for the National Association of College Wind and Percussion Instructors National Online Conference.
  • Hosted Ellie Parker’s Webinar Presentation “I Am My Future” via the ZOOM platform.

Student Activities

  • Nicole Soler won an audition for Drum Major of the Bobcat Marching Band.
  • Lauren Gordon is the Inaugural Winner of the Kyle Stoetzel Memorial Scholarship sponsored by Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.
  • Studio members participated in two ZOOM platform studio recitals.
  • Studio members took part in a ZOOM Webinar Presentation: “I Am My Future” by Saxophonist Ellie Parker.
  • Rachel Brown elected as Vice President of Membership for Theta Alpha Chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi.
  • Nicole Soler elected as Vice President of Service for Theta Alpha Chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi.
  • Edgar Blandon, Elise Dickey, and Madison Douzat won auditions as saxophone section leaders for Bobcat Marching Band.
