Daris Hale (bassoon) and Ian Davidson (oboe) traveled to Rio de Janiero where they appeared as featured soloists at the RioWinds Festival.  Their solo concert included a performance of Ian’s most recent original composition “Ranch Songs”, scored for oboe and bassoon.

Also on the program was the premiere performance of Harold Emert’s (principal oboe – National Orchestra of Brazil) original composition “The Double”, inspired by the Dostoevsky short story of the same name.  The work is scored for a pair of oboes and was written for Ian and Harold, specifically for this performance, to celebrate their work together in the past decade.  Ian’s work “Carioca”, for solo oboe was written for Mr. Emert and was recorded by him for YouTube Music in August 2021.
