The Florida Orchestra gave the world premiere of Michael Ippolito‘s new work, a la fenestra, which was commissioned for the orchestra’s opening weekend of concerts for the 2021-2022 season. Scored for strings, percussion and three brass ensembles that were placed around the theater, Ippolito depicted the isolation many experienced during the COVID-19 pandemic, but also the urge to reach out and connect across distance.
