Dr. Craig Hella Johnson, Texas State University Artist-in-Residence, and Grammy award-winning group Conspirare have stayed active in sharing their music. During the month of November Conspirare celebrated Native American Heritage Month by recognizing and showcasing alto Keely J Rhodes and tenor David Kurtenbach Rivera. Rhodes can be heard in “Freedom Song” and “Sweet Little Jesus Boy” and Rivera performed the tenor solo in the world premiere of Andrea Clearfield’sPrayer to the Shechinah”.

Their upcoming concert, Conspirare Christmas, will be presented virtually on Monday, December 7th at 7:30pm. This upcoming performance will feature guest appearances by Frederica von Stade, Joyce Di Donato, Carrie Rodriguez, members of the Dallas Street Choir, and more and will focus on Native American composers and performers, including Rhodes and Rivera.

Conspirare’s first virtual performance “Unity: Songs of Invitation” is available to be viewed online.
