▪ Nominee as a candidate for the Texas Commission On the Arts “Texas State Artist”. This designation is the highest designation that the Texas Legislature gives in the arts. Texas State Artists serve one-year terms and represent the state’s artistic legacy. State Artists receive statewide recognition, and the designation provides a unique marketing opportunity.

▪ Preliminary Round Entry for the Charleston International Music Competition in both Solo and Talent Show Divisions. Charleston, South Carolina.

▪ Took part in a virtual transatlantic meeting to discuss collaborative opportunity between Texas State University School of Music and the Hochschule für Musik in Mainz, Germany. They will pursue “Virtual Music Teaching in Art and Academia”

▪ Invited by the Association for Technology in Music Instruction to participate in a panel discussion: “Network Music Technology for No-latency Livestreaming and Synchronizing Audio at Multiple Locations – applications in Music Performance and Classrooms During the Pandemic”. University of Colorado, Denver, Colorado.

Chris Martinez received the Texas Music Educators Association Collegiate Music Educator Award.

Nicole Soler competed in the Texas State Concerto Competition Preliminary Round. She also performed on the School of Music Student Departmental Recital.

Edgar Blandon performed on the School of Music Student Departmental Recital.

Julio Gonzalez performed on the School of Music Student Departmental Recital.

Erik Gamez performed on the School of Music Student Departmental Recital.

ISO Quartet (Edgar Blandon, Julio Gonzalez, Trinidad Herrera, Robert Vasquez) performed on the School of Music Student Departmental Recital.
