The Magic Flute, produced at Texas State University’s beautiful Performing Arts Center, was awarded Third Place in Division V of the The National Opera Association 2018-2019 Opera Production Competition. Directed by Marc Reynolds and conducted by Jacob Harrison, the production was strengthened by “the wonderful TXST voice teachers and our amazing vocal coach Kristin Roach,” according to Reynolds.
The competition cycle had a sizable number of entries this year, taking 24 judges upwards of three hundred hours to view all submissions. As stated by the NOA organizers, “The future of opera is in good hands.”
