Daris Hale produced and performed in the East Africa’s Cultural Arts Centre debut concert. The inaugural concert featured a variety of musical talents from 5 different countries, including Texas State University School of Music alumna, Sophia Kuyenga.
In 2014, Daris was the co-author of a 3-year, multi-million dollar grant from the European Union to create a permanent center for preservation, research, and promotion of Africa’s unique cultural heritage. It provides opportunities for tourists, local communities, and school-age children to experience and learn about the arts. The Cultural Arts Centre is the only facility of this type in all of East Africa.
