Dr. Martin McCain performed and taught at the PRIZM International Chamber Music festival June 5-18 in Memphis, where he performed and coached chamber ensembles in addition to performing in the PRIZM Chamber Orchestra with members of the Philadelphia Orchestra, Nashville Symphony, Jacksonville Symphony and Metropolitan Opera.
June 28 – July 1, he served on the faculty for the International Trombone Festival in Redlands, California where he presented a masterclass, served on the jury for the International Trombone Quartet Competition, conducted a participant trombone choir and performed with the Cramer Choir which is comprised of international trombone professors.
July 3-9 McCain traveled to Sibenik, Croatia to serve on the faculty at the English Brass Academy and held a similar position at the Austin Chamber Music Festival July 11-22.
He also presented a clinic at the Texas Bandmasters Association Convention on July 20.
From July 26-August 6, Dr. McCain taught at the Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp in Twin Lakes, MI and performed live radio broadcasts with the Blue Lake Festival Band and Orchestra.
McCain traveled to Rochester, New York to perform with the Gateways Music Festival Orchestra at the Eastman School of Music where several concerts were broadcast on NPR’s “Performance Today”.
His summer residencies ended in China with performances in Hong Kong and serving on the jury for the Macau International Trombone Competition.
