Our inaugural year of the International Concert Series concluded April 21 with a spectacular showcase performance by Texas State’s top-notch jazz faculty, led by renowned former Count Basie drummer Butch Miles. Joining him were jazz faculty Hank Hehmsoth, Morris Nelms, Russell Haight, Paul Deemer, Bennett Wood, Russell Scanlon, Stephen Hawk, and Keith Winking. Graduate student Ben Triesch played bass, and for the final number there was a cameo appearance on bass trombone by School of Music Director Thomas Clark.
