Dr. Martin McCain was featured on Austin’s KMFA 89.5 classical radio station twice in February where they broadcast selections from his recent album Shades. McCain was also featured on Toronto’s CKWR twice in celebration of Black history month where selections from his 1st album Trombone Czar were also broadcast in addition to Shades.

Dr. McCain was a guest artist at Texas A & M International University’s Master Performers Concert Series, where he presented a recital and masterclass. He was also a featured soloist with his chamber group, The Minor 4th Trombone Quartet as they performed Jan Koetsier’s Concertino for Trombone Quartet and String Orchestra with the Texas A & M University – Corpus Christi Chamber Orchestra.

Additionally, McCain was recently signed to two artist rosters. He became an artist for the instrument case company Reunion Blues and also signed with Cubides Artist Management. The CAM artist roster includes the Principal tubist and 4th horn of the Philadelphia Orchestra and Assistant Principal Trombone for the Cleveland Symphony.

He also secured external funding to host Matthew Guilford, Bass Trombonist of the National Symphony Orchestra on March 24 where he taught lessons to the trombone majors and presented a masterclass.
