Texas State’s VocaLibre ensemble entertained about 50 people gathered November 6 to celebrate the opening of Central Texas Medical Center‘s new inpatient hospice unit. According to the November 7 story by Jillian Beck in the San Marcos Daily Record, the CTMC unit “is the first of its kind between Austin and San Antonio.” VocaLibre is unique in the Hill Country as well. Directed by choral faculty member Craig Aamot, it features a compelling blend of folk music from around the world, popular American songs, and timeless a cappella classics.
