TXST faculty active in TSMT

Four School of Music music theory faculty were actively involved in the February 22-23 meeting of the Texas Society for Music Theory (TSMT) held at Texas State. Nico Schüler presented a paper titled “ Performance and Perception of Rubato: A Case Study on Four Performances of J.S. Bach’s InventionNo. 9 in F minor.”  Jose Garza shared his research at the poster session: “From the Stage to the Pit: Instrument Roles in and the Cultural Significance of Time Feels in Post-Millennial Metal Music.” Cynthia I. Gonzales is currently President of TSMT and Rebecca Eaton coordinated local arrangements.
