McCain and his chamber ensemble, the Minor 4th Trombone Quartet, were also guest soloists with the Kingsville Symphony Orchestra as a part of the quartet’s 10-year anniversary. Additionally, McCain was invited again to serve on the TMEA audition selection committee and will choose the All-State bass trombone repertoire for the 2016-2017 year.

He performed in the pit orchestra for “Cinderella the Musical” and also performed a series of school concerts with the Austin Chamber Music Center. In February, he hosted the 6th Annual Texas State Trombone Symposium, which featured trombone artists across the world and included the final round of the Conn-Selmer Tenor Trombone, Edwards Bass Trombone and Rath Jazz Trombone Solo competitions, which are competitive on a national level. A week later, McCain hosted guest artist Christopher Davis from Northwestern University.
